1983 - London England - Pub around the corner from University of London - Chelsea

Can't remember of find the name of the pub.  It seemed to be just down Hortensia Street on a corner.  It's probably long gone and anther business instead of a pub.

I remember spending some afternoons and evenings there.  Music videos were a new thing and they had a machine (like a juke box) that played music videos.  It was hilarious.

This one awkward guy was trying to make time with me and he said "Oh I get it, the video actions are in time with the musical beat".  (Groan).

I did meet Matthias there.  He was 6 plus foot and gorgeous.  More about him later.

Another pub we went to (we went to many, because you didn't go there just to drink at nights, they served lunches).  British food was hit or miss.  It's why I kept my box of cereal in my room.

One place we were at, there was a piano. I played Desperato (Eagles) and she sat down behind me and played Styx "Come Sail Away".  WOW!  She showed me up. LOL

Another pub I went to was in Oxford and I found an infinity for ploughman) plowman lunches.  This was a lunch of cheese and crackers, cheese and break (LOVE) with grapes.  I did that several times while there.

Once at a pub, I was excited to see roast beef, corn, and other veggies.   I was so happy and ordered the corn. They dipped it in and it was in mayonnaise.  BLECH!

...and under cooked.  DOUBLE BLECH!

In France we stopped at a restaurant and I ordered a ham sandwich.  It came as a thin baguette (at least 12 inches long), and a single slice of ham deli meat.  No mayo.  THAT was not what I call french cuisine.

I loved the London Spaghetti House and the Chinese restaurant in Soho (can't remember name).

Pints, Half Pints, Lager and Stout.  I don't do stout.  That's liquid bread.  But I had a couple of half pints, here and there.

Pubs would call last call for alcohol, One had a bell they rang.  Very loudly.  I was tipsy.  It was fun.
